This Foundations of Yoga booklet is designed to give you, a beginning Yoga student, some experience with the skills of Ashtanga, the eight limbs of Yoga. This is not an effort of your intellec-tual mind in learning these concepts; instead, set aside the intellectual process of learning and allow this learning to unfold natmaJly on a journey of self-discovery. By now, you know that Yoga is not just an exercise program for the body, but a journey of the body, mind and spirit. It is a system to help you give up the habits of the body/mind and see what has always been there, if you just had a way to look. We hope that you use this booklet to enhance your Yoga practice.
