The Fat Error System

Leptin is a protein produced in fat cells by the gene ob (which means obesity) and is somehow responsible for transmitting to the brain centers, the signal that reduces appetite and increases metabolism and physical activity. When we observe increased weight, we are dealing with the phenomenon of resistance to leptin, meaning the abnormal reaction of the brain to the stimulus that this particular hormone causes when comes in contact with their respective receptors. Therefore in our brain does not reach the correct signal to regulate the appetite, but completely the opposite one. To get an idea of how wrong this mechanism can function, in cases of resistance to leptin, essentially the brain, instead of getting the message to reduce the appetite and increase the rate of metabolism in order to burn fat by enhancing our physical activity, it falsely believes that our body is starving and it does everything it can to increase our appetite Thus, the metabolism begins to reduce its rhythms and excess weight now is being installed in our body. Result? Nothing works properly. what Leptin does is managing fat in adipocytes. When the large quantities of food intake become average, leptin activates the body to receive energy from the stored fat in fat cells. This however seems to works perfectly in slim people and unfortunately not in obese people This is what we call The Fat Error.
