Zusammenbruch und Erinnerung

The time of the nation has its origin in Proust in the anti-sacramental replaced Eucharist of Easter Sunday. There is therefore a lot of eating. Cake plates adorned with motifs from the Arabian Nights are also lost, and their trail leads to Venice. Marcel arrives in the lagoon city late, although he was supposed to travel there all along. The hoped-for happiness, however, does not materialize. Then comes the First World War and with it an apocalyptic night of bombing. Marcel loses his identity and lies awake for years in a sanatorium. At the very end Venice returns and now Marcel suddenly knows how to write.
