Cat's brother and his wife suddenly died, leaving her with their two children. She is determined to raise them as her own and eagerly heads back to her hometown of Bonners Ferry Idaho to track down an old family friend who does pro bono work as an attorney. When she gets there, the last thing she expects to find is one of her childhood buddies, now running the law firm Oliver has seen his share of heartache over the years. He lost his wife to cancer a few years back and when his Godfather declared he wanted to retire, Oliver thought that taking over the law office sounded like a great way to provide for his five-year-old twin daughters. When he sees Cat again for the first time since they'd been teenagers, he is instantly transported back in time... to an age when she'd been the only thing he'd wanted in life, but he'd been too afraid of losing her as a friend to risk telling her how he'd felt about her. It only took one single night of giving in to temptation for Cat to get pregnant with their child... now they have two choices... go their separate ways and try to figure out how to co-parent from two separate households or get married and combine their families into one... After losing one wife, Oliver is leery of taking the chance a second time... but there's something about Cat that calls to him... Being back in her hometown is hard enough for Cat to deal with as it is. She's not having much luck getting the powers that be to grant her full permanent custody of her brother's kids... and now that she's pregnant with one of her own, marriage to Oliver seems like the only answer to her problems... but she wasn't sure if she had it in her to plant roots so close to the alcoholic mother that her big brother had worked so hard to get her away from all those years ago even if Oliver was willing to take that plunge with her. Will it be a tale of yours, mine and ours as Cat and Oliver decide to take the chance on each other, or will these two broken souls allow their fear to drive them apart? Only time will tell
