'Jobs for the Boys' Hacker discovers one of the shining examples of a public-private partnership is tarnished by favouritism which he vows to eliminate - until he needs some favours of his own. 'The Right to Know' A change in the proposed land use of a badger area could lead to some startling exposure, unless Sir Humphrey can manage to keep Jim Hacker's family affairs under control. 'Doing the Honours' Hacker finds Sir Humphrey's Achilles heel when he links budget cuts to the annual honours list. But while Hacker is reluctant to bestow honours, Humphrey finds his minister is not averse to taking. 'The Devil You Know' There's a cabinet re-shuffle on the cards and Hacker wonders whether doing 'alright' is alright. Will he be sent to Brussels - home of fat-cat politicians with air-conditioned Mercedes, champagne lunches and siestas? Perhaps the cost of failure isn't so great after all... The sustained dry wit of the dialogue and the wonderful interplay between the three main characters; Jim Hacker, Sir Humphrey and Bernard Wooley; made Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay's satirical comedy compulsive viewing. The strength of the writing makes these audios a joy to listen to.
