Five-year-old Kaley and her little sister Emily have attended Space Coast Symphony Concerts since infancy. Their parents and aunt play oboe, violin, and cello and are charter members of this orchestra. They are music teachers in Brevard County, Florida. This story is written from the children's perspective, showing their passion for music, their interest in instruments, and their excitement for music. As their artistic director Maestro Aaron Collins puts it, "This is not your grandfather's orchestra." Through audience-centered programming, year round concerts, collaboration with other art forms, using film scores and NASA space film accompanied by music, this orchestra has gained a passionate following. 2018 marks its tenth anniversary season. Portions of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the Symphony for Everyone program to allow anyone who wishes to hear this group, regardless of their ability to pay, to attend performances.
