A cosmic event of biblical proportions is brewing in the heavens and strange things are happening. In the little Texas town of Feague, someone cut local archaeologist Odie Withrow's throat as he was running down a cemetery road. The problem is that Odie died and was buried the week before.

When a young reporter investigates, she encounters a handsome shape shifter in a classic Cadillac looking for an Egyptian eye amulet buried with Odie. Meanwhile in Houston, a fiend in a museum tomb exhibit has come to life leaving a string of victims who are on video committing murders after they were murdered. When the fiend books a private jet to Egypt, the FBI and CIA recruit retired Agent Sam Nicosia to follow him.

In Cairo, famed TV archaeologist Buddy Lee is on the skids, drinking heavily and about to be fired. Encounters with a stranger named Ray and a Wisconsin farm wife named Viola give him hope that he can redeem his career and find fulfillment.
