When Gods Go To War

High fantasy swords and sorcery novella, set in a world where the gods walk among men.

Lampide, city of light and law, has stood for two hundred years. Together, the goddess Onore and the five castes she rules have built a shining beacon of civilization and progress. As the city comes under threat from Ombra, god of shadow and vigilantes, the two begin a war whose only true end can be Onore's death, or Ombra's retreat.

Ombra's cultists attack and destroy, and Onore's dogs strike back in an endless cycle of escalation. Officer Lukas Hawkwood of the guard tries to balance his principles with the demands of war and his desire to escape the shame of his father's betrayal of the goddess.

Caught in the crossfire, mortals pick their sides in a war for the soul of the city, whether freedom in darkness, unity in obedience, or merely surviving to see another sunrise.
