Voices at the end of the World leads us into a darkened place, where a catastrophe has cast life to one side. The few survivors, animal or otherwise, have their story told in a series of poems which open up the mystery of life when death and silence have claimed so many. The ordinary world is described in eery detail as it enters a new phase. The poems blend the familiar with new territory and take the reader on a secluded journey, to find out what can be salvaged by the end. This book of poems is written in an open, non-rhyming style, with complex and intriguing themes blended with very natural imagery. Voices at the end of the World is suitable for adults and young adult readers. Being accessible in its style, it is a good counterpoint for students of GCSE and A level poetry.
