There's a battle brewing in Destiny, Florida, and it's not just over the proposed town limits. When youth minister Zak Isaaks rescues one of his former Sunday school pupils from the streets, he has no idea what he's in for. But Rachel Moreno isn't the child he once knew, and she tugs at his heart in unexpected ways, hurling his well-laid ministry plans into chaos and his brotherly intentions out the window. On the run from foster home number five, Rachel is desperate to catch up with her future and constantly tripping over her past. Zak is the one piece of her past she's glad to run into, a man like no one else she's ever known and the embodiment of so much that's been lacking in her life. But Zak seems bent on drawing lines between them, and she might be the last thing he needs in his orthodox, well planned life. . As Destiny's border war heats up, so does Zak and Rachel's struggle with fear, misconceptions and misplaced boundaries. It will take some very special negotiations to move them beyond the limitations of the past toward a new beginning this side of destiny.
