Beatrice Walsh would give anything to go back in time and somehow prevent the tragedy that happened to her family in Chicago twelve years before. Her life and the lives of countless others were devastated by the Iroquois Theater Fire of 1903.

Beatrice believes that the injuries she suffered in the fire will eventually claim her life, so she has decided to spend the remainder of her days alone, finding her solace in the piano.

Evan Masters has had enough of being alone, since he's been that way since he was hardly more than a boy. He has held an interest in the mysterious piano player since the day she came to Dempsey, but so far all of his overtures have been met with rejection.

Can Evan convince Beatrice to rejoin society and take a chance on love? Will they be able to stop the shifty salesman who wants to build an unsafe theater in Dempsey? Can Beatrice trust God and allow him to use her broken song to tell the story of his grace through her life?
