Arne had lost his father to the war with the Franks. His bitterness turned to rage and rage to vengeance. From his youth he swore to avenge the honor of his family. His heart, however, was captured by the beautiful Sigrid whose love threatened to forestall his quest. The struggle between love and hate was as fierce a battle as Arne would ever face. Ogier, King of the Danes, also struggled with loss. His beloved Bertha was missing and he would shake heaven and earth to find her. As a vassal of King Charlemagne he was charged to hold the Vikings at bay. King Ogier unleashed the fury of his broken heart in a clash with warriors of the north.
