Beskrivelse
Previously published as Obviously Intoxicated: Stopping Drunks Before They Drive by Anthony Avano, which is a memoir coupled with an extensive reference section. This new book does not include any reference material, but instead is an expanded and more detailed memoir.
The Seven Points is a law enforcement memoir comprised of a series of extraordinary life-changing events followed by striking incidents that occurred to the writer throughout a 30-year career in law enforcement. While the memoir is focused on the life of the writer it is also a story about his friends, his co-workers, brother and sister officers, and some of the criminals involved in several significant, and sometimes abhorrent crimes. Uniquely, this memoir provides a snapshot of the people - even some of the criminals - involved in these events. The reader can see the humanity and the vulnerability of both law enforcement officers and criminals which ultimately shows both the good and the bad of the players from both sides of the law. Finally, the story reveals a singular and stark truth that death follows all of us and that it can happen early and unexpectedly.
