The Modern Ancients

An exploration of ancient civilizations and technologies via ancient texts and manuscripts, and via archaeological and prehistoric sites. This book argues that our current view of human history is far too narrow, and that we have various forms of evidence that show that our history is far more ancient, and was far more modern, than we have hitherto imagined. The book explores topics such as ancient mines, the practice of ancient metallurgy, ancient knowledge of astronomy, and references in ancient texts that point to the existence of automatons and flying aircraft housands of years ago.
