Once upon a time, there was a lady locked into a tower by an evil magician. You know this story. She languishes there awaiting a hero to come save her? But Nell is no lady, and she's definitely not waiting to be saved. She escapes the tower and returns to her parents and siblings. But what of the ones who are still trapped in the tower? Gwen has a BA in psychology, and training in computer information systems; for most of her life she worked as a systems analyst. When she wasn't at work, she danced on English folk dance teams. She also loves doing ceramics and stained glass as well as baking and gardening. She's gone to Outward Bound, jumped horses and solo backpacked. She has a Golden Retriever and is married to a soil ecologist at UCSB.
