Beskrivelse
First published in 1644 by the Rev. Henry Scudder, "The Godly Man's Choice" is a fine collection of directions reflecting the Puritan model of selecting, pursuing, and loving a Christian spouse. The opening directions, originally penned by Caleb Grantham, offer biblical instruction concerning the choosing and wooing of a spouse. The remainder of the book contains directions penned by Scudder himself concerning preparation for marriage and the duties of husbands and wives. Henry Scudder was an English Presbyterian pastor and writer. He was quite influential in his time, speaking before the House of Commons and serving in the Westminster Assembly. His most famous work is "The Christian's Daily Walk."
