This is the definitive book on that Report, which identified Pat Garrett’s July 14, 1881 Fort Sumner victim as William Bonney, “the Kid.” Given are the circumstances of that Coroner’s Jury Report’s writing, its proper filing with San Miguel County court records, and its basis for Pat Garrett’s collecting his reward.
