The Children of Old Higher Lighthouse

This is another captivating children's storybook by author-illustrator John L D Barnett. Part true and part fiction, it tells the story of the adventures of the children of Royal Navy Captain Tony Hanson and his young wife Peggy. The family were evacuated to protect them from the London Blitz during the 1940s World War II and they came to live at the Old Higher Lighthouse situated on Portland Bill in Dorset. It tells of the true history of the Old Higher Lighthouse and its ghost, which contains many colour photographs of the area and its stunning scenic views of the Dorset Jurassic coast. This is a wonderful historical colour cartoon storybook not to be missed.
