The Book of Esther in Type and Antitype

Brave, beautiful, humble, queenly and godly...all adjectives rightly used to describe Esther, but what about words such as symbolic, prophetic and typological? As is true of many books of the Bible, Esther is a historically true account and must be seen as literal and factual, but must also be read with spiritual eyes. the major and even minor players in the book of Esther represent persons beyond their own physical selves and the events that enfold within the ten chapters of this book represent events both prophetically fulfilled and those which are still to come. Within this short, Old testament book, the whole of the Great Controversy between God and Satan can be seen and the outcome anticipated.
