Beskrivelse

Having compared the biography of the main characters and the history of the events with real facts the author of the book concluded that the "Esther scroll" describes the events taking place on the eve of the Battle of Cunaxa (401 BC) in the Persian Empire. It is claimed that in real history King Ahasuerus is Artaxerxes II; Vashti (Astin) is his mother Parysatis - the former queen of Persia, who fiercely opposed the Artaxerxes accession to the throne and demonstratively acted against him; Esther, the wife of Artaxerxes II - Stateira, the whole her family was buried alive by Parysatis several years ago; Mordecai, the commander, satrap and cousin of Stateira - Tissaphernes (it is known from history that he and Stateira were descendants of the Jew Hydarnes); Haman, the brother of the king, Cyrus the Younger, who under the pretext of punishing Tissaphernes received permission from Artaxerxes to collect troops (including the Macedonians, as reflected in the scroll of Esther), at the end he planned to use these troops to overturn Artaxerxes, uncovered the plot Tissaphernes handed over this information through the Stateira to Artaxerxes. As a result, surrounded by a conspiracy and treachery of all his ministers and relatives (brother, mother), Artaxerxes had to rely only on the wife's relatives who, having raised the Jewish clan throughout the Persian Empire, calling the Jews of the Northern regions to revolt blocked the approach of a huge enemy army (70-80 thousandth army of Cyrus) towards the capital and contributed to its defeat. Cyrus was killed in this battle (in 401 BC), his posts and possessions were transferred to Tissaphernes and from that time he became the closest man to Artaxerxes. This book outlines the further fate of these Biblical characters and their descendants on the basis of the real biography of Stateira and Tissaphernes, a number of important conclusions concerning the Jewish history of Transcaucasia and Iran are drawn based on the information of this book.
