This book is the fifth in the series. Building from earlier key stages, it describes what children in English schools are taught throughout Years 7, 8 and 9 as preparation for GCSE. The book focuses on basic skills: speaking and listening, reading, writing and maths - and summarises how Key Stage 2 learning is developed throughout KS3. The content explains or advises on: • The main objectives of the National Curriculum; • How each objective is likely to be taught; • Issues or difficulties that affect learning; • How parents can help with homework and support learning at home.
