Sunset Stories

Sunset Stories contain valuable life-lessons the author learned from dying patients during his fifteen years as a hospice chaplain. They have influenced his thinking, impacted his being, and shaped his life. These stories are for information, inspiration and transformation. They will make you laugh and cry, wince and wink, nudge you to celebrate the human spirit, and help you make your life-journey an enjoyable ride. Approach these stories as protagonist and ponderer. The "Ponder and Practice" section at the end of each story is offered as a guide to that process. However, feel free to ask your own questions and wrestle with the feelings the stories may evoke in you. You are likely to benefit more if you read them slowly, and in small increments rather than read through the book. Let the stories challenge your assumptions, examine your biases, and help you embrace your vulnerabilities. Let them expand the boundaries of your imagination, and stretch the edges of your faith.
