Whisky, Scotland's most famous export, has been made for centuries, but in the nineteenth century production moved away from small stills to the large scale of production generally seen today. This was the result of the increasing demand in the latter years of the nineteenth century for these and many other brands of blended whisky. With the interest in these new brands came the development of advertising. "Still Going Strong" explores the historical development of the companies behind the dynamic growth of the world's favourite whiskies and the wide range of newspaper and magazine advertising that was so much part of their success.
