A training mission to the unexplored planet, Kafka, turns deadly when a class of teenage Deep Space Ranger Cadets encounter ALIEC, an ancient, insane computer left behind by an alien civilization. With their minds now controlled by the mad computer, they turn on each other. The only four cadets to avoid control by the computer, and who must now flee the planet on home-made rocket cycles. As the Galactic Bikers, the four vow to return to Kafka to destroy ALIEC and free their friends - but the only way to carry out their mission depends on the special abilities of a young girl, Starflake the Starbabe. Small enough to negotiate the twisting tunnel leading to ALIEC's lair, and able to live in the poisonous atmosphere protecting him, Starflake eagerly joins the Galactic Bikers.
