Following the loss of his mother, young Joshua, an inquisitive boy from the city possessing an exquisitely sensitive heart, struggles to find his place in a world that has grown unfamiliar. With his father, a research scientist who has chosen to isolate himself emotionally, the burden of grief weighs heavily on his shoulders. However, when his father is tasked with visiting the enigmatic Oneiwa people, a tribe with crimson-red skin residing in a toxic, inhabitable area, Joshua's world takes an unexpected turn.
On the other side of the spectrum, Simba, a resilient boy belonging to the tribe of Oneiwa, molded by the raw simplicity of climbing towering trees, dwelling in mud, and chasing gorillas, grapples with a harrowing reality. His brother lays paralyzed by a nameless sickness, teetering on the brink of life and death. Driven by an unwavering determination to save his brother, he sets out on a perilous quest for the forbidden water, a once magical source rumored to possess the power to heal any affliction.
As fate intertwines their paths, despite their contrasting backgrounds and strengths, an unlikely friendship begins to flourish. Through their connection, Joshua finds a renewed sense of purpose, and Simba discovers an ally in his quest to save his brother.
