A young woman with a damaged heart finds a chance for love as she struggles for dressage stardom.  

When Kate leaves school to pursue her dream, she knows exactly what she wants: A working student position at a top dressage barn, where she can spend all day with horses and stay far away from men. With a past littered with hurt and abandonment, and a traumatic secret that haunts her, she longs for the honesty and constancy only a relationship with a horse promises.



But Kate's talent in the saddle quickly propels her into the spotlight at Cherry Hill Farm, and a once-in-a-lifetime offer of the ride on a potential Team horse upends her plans to stay in the shadows and learn from the sidelines. Suddenly, she has enemies she doesn't want and friends she can't trust, as well as a generous sponsor who seems to expect more than she's willing to give.



When a handsome stranger appears at the farm with three rescued horses, Kate finds herself drawn to the starving animals-and the man who saved them. In his arms, she realizes she might finally be ready to open her heart. But competing at the highest levels of dressage introduces Kate to pressures to perform-in the ring and in the bedroom-and her refusal to play the game jeopardizes her future. When her old fears and self-loathing return, she pushes away those she's let close, and it suddenly seems like she might lose everything...
