This second edition of the book gives a general description of the most important aspects of employment law in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, including:

An overall description of the Scandinavian model Jurisdiction and choice of law in employment relationships across borders Rules concerning residence permits and work permits Requirements for employees' employment contracts/certificates Remuneration, including fixed remuneration, incentive pay and payment by shares Rules on tax and social contribution The employee's right to time off during public holidays and holidays, sickness, maternity leave and other absences Agreements on restriction of competition Termination of employment Discrimination Health and safety at work Collective redundancies Transfer of undertakings The book compares the rules of the three Scandinavian countries, emphasising the important similarities and differences.

Each part of the book can be read independently, due to separate textboxes with important information and a dictionary of selected terms used in the 3 countries. Additionally you find a list of useful employment links.

Finn Schwarz, Head of the Employment Law Group of Horten Law Firm (Denmark) and the author of a number of books on employment related issues, has edited the book together with Jonas Enkegaard, Attorney, on behalf of the employment law groups of Horten Law Firm (Denmark), DLA Piper (Norway) and DLA Nordic (Sweden).

DLA Piper (Norway) and DLA Nordic (Sweden) are members of the DLA Piper Group, which has 3,700 lawyers in 28 countries, while Horten Law Firm (Denmark) has a focus firm relation to the DLA Piper Group. For several years, the employment law groups in the three Scandinavian countries have cooperated on national and international level on employment-related problems in Scandinavia.
