Rapid Dreams

It's the summer of 1957, and a small Western city is thrilled by its new ball team, a motley mix of touted collegians dreaming of Big League stardom and salty ex-pros hoping for one last shot at "The Show."

   By their exploits on the ballfield, they unite the town in a baseball fever, but their involvements off the field threaten three local families at the heart of the story-one white, one Black, and one half-Jewish.

   Meet Joel, the Jewish pitcher from New York, and Clarence, the former Negro League catcher from the local air base. And Billy, the teenage batboy. Follow them on their team bus and in town as Rapid Dreams explores a changing America and the religious, racial, and social tensions of the 1950s-issues still resonating today.
