Beskrivelse

Quantum Darwinism is a physical phenomenon which describes the quantum mechanical evolution of an open system from the point of view of its environment. In this book we study the behavior of quantum Darwinism within the iterative, random unitary operations qubit-model of pure decoherence and test the robustness of system's pointer basis towards dissipative effects induced by environmental degrees of freedom. We conclude that quantum Darwinism depends on the specific form of initial states and on the type of system-environment interactions. Furthermore, we show that within the random unitary model the concept of quantum Darwinism enables one to explicitly construct and specify artificial initial states of environment that allow to store information about an open system of interest and its pointer-basis with maximal efficiency.
