Immigrant's first arriving in the new land with nothing but dreams, working the fields and eventually getting a plot of land of their own was the "American Dream." Today, on that plot of land, on a dirt road, stands a tribute to the farm families who once settled there. By working the land, they carved out a life in America through hard work. The Kern County farm families tell their stories of facing hardships and challenges in various points of their lives, but also share their paths of success. While researching these family stories, it is discovered how deeply family heritage plays a significant role in our lives today.
