Out of His League

"Out of His League" is the story of Cal Bateman, a hard working junior hockey player trying to shed a reputation born from an incident that may prevent him from getting his foot in the door of professional hockey. Cal attends the draft with many questions in the air, all out of his control. When the Anaheim Ducks select him fifth overall it sets off a myriad of questions from his new colleagues and the professional ranks. He prepares for the training camp and realizes he has barely scratched the surface of being a professional. He is determined to make it and shed his reputation as a hot head and potential draft bust. A series of unintended events comes back to haunt Cal as he infiltrates the crash course of hockey at main camp. He juggles the stress of learning the game all over again to win the respect of Mark Cradle, the coach, who dismisses Cal for retaining a poor reputation. Cal weaves his way through Cradle's ire, new teammates, competing colleagues and a lingering curveball. Cal knows he's "Out of his League" but will do anything it takes to prove himself while he searches for his own heart and ethics. "Out of His League" goes beyond the scores and the crowds and leaves you thinking you are a part of the game, on and off the ice.
