On the Wings of Eagles

The life and times of an unlicensed barn stormer in the Great Depression who became the National Flight Instructor of the Year in 1981.An era in this world is fast coming to a close. The era in which man soared into the heavens in search of himself and set himself apart from the world below. Today flying is commonplace. The average person can take a flight on an airliner for business or pleasure without a second thought of the sacrifices made in aviation. The aviator in the open cockpit biplane straining to see through the grease stained goggles looking for a field below has disappeared. His knowledge that man was not meant to fly was overcome by the fact that he is alone soaring with the eagles.
