Beskrivelse
After her marriage fails, Glory, as a single mum, is left to raise her six-and-a-half-year old son alone. Bobby is a precocious, yet normal, sort of boy. Does well at school, except when overcome by depression caused by the coming and going of mum's boyfriends. As her friend Jolene explains, Glory had a good eye for a sonofabitch ' Glory's many admirers include: * Garth Bullard. Popular late night DJ on a local A.M radio show. He is also a womanizer. He and his dog Doughie chase every good-looking girl in the park. Glory can not live without him, nor can she live with him. * James Wellington Waller. An actor by training, a reader, a thinker, a poet and a freelance writer. His first real job is to be Santa Claus in the local mall. He is humiliated, then he becomes elated. He plays the role well and he falls in love with a little boy's mum, Glory. * Jerry Walter. The live-at-home son of Glory's landlady. He's best described as a lazy lunatic. Bobby calls him Satan. Because Glory holds Jerry at arms length, he feels rejected and decides to kill her in a very unusual way. While Garth and Jerry stalk Glory at 3 A.M., they meet in her backyard and have a fierce, almost fatal, fight. Jerry's plan for killing Glory goes awry and ironically he ends up killing Garth instead. In the end we are left to surmise that Glory, Bobby and James Wellington Waller live happily ever after. What could be more compelling than love, lust and lunacy?
