Mizia

In the art centre of Italy, Artemisia Gentileschi is born and raised to be an artist. With talents that surpass the male artists of the 1600s, Artemisia is thrust into the world of painting. While her success blooms, she is met with tragedies that threaten to break her artistic spirit. Betrayed by a friend, abused by a mentor, married to a gambler, and tortured through motherhood, Artemisia searches for freedom from the men that control her movement, her finances, and her practice. Art is her escape, her form of expression, and the tool that shapes her into the dauntless woman that she is. 

Based on real events, Mizia is a story of passion and pain, and how they work together to shape a woman that has enough of both to span lifetimes.
