Mended Wings

How do I start? Where do I start? How do I begin to tell you my story--the story of a prodigal daughter dealing with a root of rejection that resulted in self-hatred, broken relationships and addictive behaviors? How do I expose the parts of my journey that makes me uncomfortable given my private nature, but is essential for me to share with you to give you hope in a loving God who has the power to deliver and restore? I was born in Atlanta, GA and grew up in a strict Pentecostal household. We were sanctified and during that era, sanctification resembled long dresses and no pants for the women and girls. My parents' parental style was no-nonsense and they instilled in my siblings and me, Christian values along with emphasizing the importance of an education. As I've reflected as an adult, I think they did a tremendous job and did the best they could with the knowledge they had. Growing up I thought they were a little stringent (LOL) but as I became an adult, I began to appreciate their efforts to shield me from certain realities of life; that I will be forever grateful for.



Ride with me on my journey. Take a seat in my vehicle called Mended Wings as I navigate you through my story and share elements from a self-help perspective as well. We will explore the devastation that the spirit of rejection brings but I will also share how you can overcome it with the help of God. You may find similarities to your life (or someone you know) within the pages of this book. Some things you read may make you laugh, cry and/or reflect...but most of all I pray it leads you to a place of restoration that presents you with relentless hope and a desire to pursue your purpose in God. It will have sharp turns and be bumpy at times, but I promise you a safe ending. Get in and let's ride
