Meandering in South Devon

South Devon the gem of the Southwest, with hidden secrets around every corner. The book contains 10 circular walks all of different distances to cater for the whole family. There are walks along the Southwest Coast Path and beautiful views, then there is warm and charming thatched cottages in hamlets where you might only see if you went walking. The Devon area is full of excellent beaches and hidden coves, a lot of the coves were used many years ago for smuggling. The West country as a strong tradition of seafarers with Sir Francis Drake, Raleigh and Grenville all from Devon area. This book helps to explorer some of the areas that may not be on the holiday routes, with quiet country lanes, green lanes and open fields. The routes are easy to follow and almost a step by step guide from stile to finish. The book gives you an idea of the type of walk, distance and if it is easy, moderate or strenuous. The South Devon area covered in these walks are mostly in the Teignbridge and Torbay districts with the general area of South Devon being south of Dartmoor which stretches from the River Exe to River Teign on to the River Tamar. This would also include part of the South Hams district at Totnes.
