SAXO's beskrivelse

Senere introduceres Miles for Oberstens veninde, Alaska Young.

Bibliotekernes beskrivelse
The unmissable first novel from bestselling and award-winning author of THE FAULT IN OUR STARS."If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane."Miles Halter's whole life has been one big non-event, until he meets Alaska Young.Gorgeous, clever and undoubtedly screwed-up, Alaska draws Miles into her reckless world and irrevocably steals his heart. For Miles, nothing can ever be the same again.`Looking for Alaska' brilliantly captures the exquisite painful joy of living and loving. Poignant, funny, heartbreaking and compelling, this novel will stay with you forever.

Looking For Alaska is my second read by John Green, after The Fault In Our Stars. However, Looking For Alaska is a much different read than TFIOS was.

Our lead, Miles Halter, moves to a little town in Alabama to attend boarding school. This is his big chance to find his great perhaps, find new friends, and live his life bigger than what he did in Florida. On his first day there, he meet his roommate Chip, better know as The Colonel. We also meet the mysterious girl, Alaska Young.

This book is one of those where it hard to actually say/write anything about it, without spoiling it. And one of the reasons why I didn’t give this book a higher rating, was because I knew was what going to happened, so I didn’t get the same experience as I would have, if I hadn’t been spoiled. And I know that this book has been out in more than 10 years now, so it hard not to know what this book is about. I’m not saying it isn’t possible, but if I had, had the opportunity to either know a little about what the story was about or knowing nothing, I would choose knowing nothing. To go in blind, because that is where you will get the most out of the story.

But it was a really good book, and if you love John Green, you should totally pick it up!
This book is all about Love, Friendship, Life, Death, Forgiveness, Finding a meaning in life, and the before and after.
