James Holloway has just lost his wife and daughter. His older brother won't let him try any new ideas at the bakery which has been in his family for generations in Ely, England. When he runs into recruiters for the 43rd Regiment of Foot, he decides to sign up, never realizing it will take him to Boston on the eve of the American Revolution.
