This impressive selection of over 200 old photographs and illustrations whisks the reader away on an exciting and informative tour of central Leeds as it used to be. Remember the last surviving bow-windowed shop on Briggate, or the Old Hall Hotel which preceded the Merrion Centre. Explore the changing face of City Square and other central landmarks.
See what it was like to live in the city and meet some of the people who lived and worked here. Make a visit to the Bull and Mouth Inn, reputedly the busiest coaching inn of its day in the city, before toasting the numerous royal visits and other significant events that have graced central Leeds over the years.
