Just How Empty is the tenth book of poetry in Jason Holt's now thirty-year body of work. From short, poignant turns to more reflective meditations and expressions in free verse and traditional forms, these poems reflect new interests in Eastern philosophy, practices of embodied wisdom, and the importance of being authentic in accepting and integrating different aspects of one's life and life experiences.
Jason Holt lives in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with his wife Megan and their cats Ruby and Jasper. He is a professor at Acadia University, where he teaches communication and the philosophy of sport. His research interests include aesthetics and philosophy and popular culture. His literary work includes poetry and fiction. Among his recent books are the scholarly Kinetic Beauty: The Philosophical Aesthetics of Sport and the literary Poems for Another Time.
