I gotta say I was impressed when I began looking into the Japanese Navy ships. They also have a terrific Coast Guard (around 60 ships). You will notice that I show F-35B aircraft landing on the aircraft carriers and also on the helicopter landing area on the destroyers. Not sure they can do that in rough seas, but if Elon Musk can land a rocket on a barge in the ocean, I'm confident the Japanese Navy can land an F-35B on a destroyer. Perhaps a computer on board the ship could take over controls of the F-35B during landings to compensate for the motion of the ship? This is the third book on Surface Warships we published. Generally, we stick to surface ships over 600 tons. Other books include China, Russia and Iran.
