When I was growing up and learning how to behave, it was completely acceptable for corporal punishment when I did something 'bad.' A good spanking, restriction to the house, banishment to my bedroom or being grounded from sports and social activities. Nowadays, there's a fine line between physical punishment and abuse. We have to use more creative discipline. Timeouts, no cell phone or computer use, and still some amount of restriction. Or a just good 'talking-to.' So what's a parent to do?
