Preface. IPIS DEI, The Cockroach of God IPIS: a Filipino word meaning Cockroach. Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattodea, which also includes termites. About 30 cockroach species out of 4,600 are associated with human habitats. About four species are well known as pests, the common household cockroaches being the German cockroach, the American cockroach, the Australian cockroach and the Oriental cockroach. The cockroaches are an ancient group, dating back at least as far as the Carboniferous period, some 320 million years ago, long before man ever existed. They are common and hardy insects, and can tolerate a wide range of environments from Arctic cold to tropical heat. IPIS DEI, the Cockroach of God, refers of course to the Opus Dei, which represents all that is evil since long before 320 million years ago, all that is bad about religion, since the Lucifer challenged St. Michael and God Almighty; all that is bad about the Holy Catholic Church: the Holy Inquisition; the Crusades, and the worst of the Popes, sons of Satan who all shared Opus Dei's greed and hunger for power, vanity and inordinate pride, sadism and capacity for lies and deception: Pope Alexander VI, Spanish-born of the infamous Borgia family, known for his libertine behavior, nepotism and debaucheries, widely believed to have engaged in incest with his daughter, Lucrezia, and whose body rapidly decomposed and bloated, leading to suspicions of poisoning; Pope Stephen VI who had the body of his predecessor, Pope Formosus, dug up and put on trial for blasphemy, stripped of its sacred vestments, three fingers on its right hand hacked off and what was left of the corpse was dragged through the streets of Rome and dumped into the Tiber river (this crazy pope didn't last long; he was strangled to death by his own enemies the following year); Pope Benedict IX who sold the Papacy twice, and whom St. Peter Damian described as "feasting on immorality" and "a demon from hell in the disguise of a priest" in the Liber Gomorrhianus, a treatise on papal corruption and sex that accused Benedict IX of routine homosexuality and bestiality; Pope Sergius III, who ordered the murder of another pope, who started "pornocracy," or the rule of harlots, with Theodora, "a shameless whore (who) exercised power like a man" together with her daughter Marozia, Pope Sergius III's mistress, mother of an illegitimate son who became Pope John XI; Pope John XII who ordained a deacon in a stable, consecrated a 10-year-old boy as bishop, converted the Lateran Palace into a brothel, raped female pilgrims in St. Peter's, stole church offerings, drank toasts to the devil, and invoked the aid of Jove, Venus, and other pagan gods when playing dice, and was apparently beaten by the husband of a woman with whom he committed adultery, dying three days later without receiving confession or the sacraments; Pope Leo X who was known primarily for the sale of indulgences to reconstruct St. Peter's Basilica, whose extravagance and challenging of Martin Luther's 95 theses, led to the Protestant Reformation. Pope Urban VI who presided over a major schism in the Roman Catholic Church in 1378, which resulted in the emergence of parallel feuding papacies that lasted nearly four decades, who was prone to violent outbursts, had six cardinals arrested for conspiring to depose him, tortured and ultimately executed them, complaining their screams were not loud enough to satisfy him; Pope Boniface VIII, a power-hungry pontiff who waged wars, sacked cities, collected riches, and eventually lost his own game of thrones, defeated by an army of his enemies. Pope Innocent IV who reigned at the time of the Holy Inquisition, who approved the use of torture to extract confessions of heresy, aggressively applied the principle that "the end justifies the means," and who condemned Galileo for claiming that the earth revolved around the sun; (MORE INSIDE)
