The WWII-era How to use High Explosives pamphlet deals completely with the use of explosives in a guerrilla warfare setting. It was designed as a reference for personnel with little-to-no training in demolitions, providing guidance on the types and amounts of explosives to use to destroy different types of targets, firing devices, electric and non-electric firing trains and circuits. .
Used extensively by the Home Guard Auxiliaries (Auxunits) and the Special Operations Executive and the resistance groups they trained and equipped, How to use High Explosives is unique in that it represents the first official British military doctrine on the use of explosives in a guerrilla warfare environment.
