Beskrivelse

The epidemic of diabetes mellitus is recognized by the World Health Organization as a global threat, and is considered a powerful independent risk factor for a cardiac event and an equivalent of coronary heart disease, to determine the effectiveness of an educational program on the risk of presenting a cardiovascular event in diabetic patients, an intervention study was conducted with 35 diabetic patients over 40 years old, without diagnosis of ischemic heart disease, based on an initial diagnosis and determination of risk of cardiovascular event through the CARDIOCALL App, an educational program was designed and implemented. In this population, where female type 2 diabetics aged 40 to 49 years and with secondary schooling predominate, the application of an educational program with prior determination of the risk of cardiovascular event through the CARDIOCALL App produces modifications in the predisposing factors and in the risk, so that the educational proposal can be considered effective.
