Dr. Gail Hoff writes with a clarity that makes understanding easy. In her first small volume of a three-part manual, she has been able to translate her great experience with horses and riders into straight forward descriptions of the basic elements of dressage, not only in terms of what works but also why things work.
Gail explains in detail the correct position of a rider and how riders can better co-ordinate their driving aids with their receiving aids. Using this information together with her insights on how horses learn, can enable a rider to open clear two-way communication channels with the horse. Understanding how horses learn as well as understanding how to co-ordinate the aids is the key to being able to truly ride from back to front.
This is a small booklet that we will read and appreciate many times over.
