This third book of the series finds Gabe and Ben enjoying a peaceful life until once again they are called to come to the aid of people in need of help. Someone is needed to cross the river into Mexico. The law and army can't. But Gabe can and does. He and a young ranch hand, Todd Rankins, ride into Mexico - two against an unknown number of bandits, the worst of the worst in their savage acts, showing no mercy to men, women or children. The bandits know the territory, the people and feel confident that they can withstand any who come to interfere with their lifestyle. They didn't count on Gabe. Go with Gabe and Todd as they cross the river into Mexico and attempt the impossible - the rescue of a young white girl. Stay with them on their return across the river to Texas. Face with them all the dangers and difficulties they encounter. As harsh and rugged as the times were the people who lived through them.
