Sara, a five hundred year old vampire, works as a therapist in New York, as well as overseeing her Lock, a peaceful group of vampire women, in a compound on the Upper West Side.

After a ghastly accident sends Sara's bloodlust spiraling dangerously out of control, she is barely able to contain her increased addiction to human blood. Out of desperation, Sara begins to wonder if ending her life is her only option.
