In 2005, Captain Gene Schnagl and his wife, Kathy set out on their Great Loop adventure. Accompanied only be their white Standard Poodle, Deedee, they were soon to encounter challenges that they had not anticipated before the start of what was to become an almost 7,000 mile circumnavigation of the eastern United States. Through personal experience they learned to overcome their fear and anxiety of such an undertaking and completed the adventure of a lifetime. Fear Knot was written to allow those boaters who share this daring dream called America's Great Loop to successfully accomplish this goal, without the fears of the unknown.
