»Extraterritoriality and EU Law. The Extraterritorial Scope of EU Law Exemplified by the Application of EU Competition and Data Protection Law in the Case Law of the European Court of Justice«: The extraterritorial application of law is particularly pertinent for economically significant states and entities as a means to ensure the practical effectiveness of their legal framework in cross-border contexts. This phenomenon is increasingly observable in the field of EU data and digital law. This thesis elucidates how the European Court of Justice circumscribes the extraterritorial provisions in their scope and contextualizes this practice, notably in light of the American experience.
